About

Background
I closed my personal blog to the public in 2007 after blogging since 1999 (back then I called it an “internet diary”). In the meantime, my fiance and I started a travel blog which went on hiatus in early 2009 (when we stopped traveling) and an abandoned life-in-New York blog.

In the past year I stopped blogging, however, actual interesting things have happened in my life than I wanted to share with my former readership and potential new audiences, namely, my wedding.

Okay, so who is this for?
Instead of just doing a normal wedding blog detailing my trials and tribulations that I thought was kind of boring (even to myself), I decided that to expand on that topic and write about the specific kind of wedding we’re having: modern, yet traditional; lavish, yet on a very tight budget.

This is for all those non-Martha Stewarts out there, like myself. We want to focus on realistic DIY–because let’s face it, just because some of us love craftsmanship or the idea of doing everything ourselves, doesn’t actually mean we have the time/skill/patience for it.

This is for all those ladies (and gentlemen) out there who never dreamt of being a bride or a princess, who hate all the bridezilla and entitlement nonsense out there in the wedding industry–yet still wants to have a semi-traditional wedding. Independent, but not necessarily fitting into the “indie” label. I’m not gunna lie, I love glamour, design, haute coutre, and style–I just don’t like unnecessary bling.

And finally, this is for all the really snarky, cynical, sarcastic type people out there who just can’t deal with all the pink floral wedding websites. ;)
